Pictorial History of the Dyna-Cam engine.

This is a photo of the original cast iron engine that was the first generation design. Since then, there have been seven generations of engine design refinements and over $50 Million spent to achieve the FAA Certification. An additional $6-8 million spent by Dyna-Cam Engine Company to get the 8th generation ready for limited  production launch.

This photo shows over nine different generations of piston design changes. Each one took several months, thousands of hours of testing and thousands of dollars to review. On the bottom is a newly machined piston on the left and a raw forged piston of the current design on the right.
